…a ‘source’ close to Andrew Lansley says about Andy Burnham’s announcement that he will roll back the Tory/Liberal privatisation of the NHS:
“Andy Burnham has shown his true colours. He wants to turn the clock back to 1948, destroying the progress that was made under Tony Blair and is committing the NHS to a costly reorganisation that no one will want,”
This from a man who seems determined to roll the clock back to 1848 and is embarking on a massively expensive programme of top down reorganisation that no-one except him and his Tory/Liberal Democrat friends actually want.
Sadly, past evidence, as indicated by Lansley’s clear admiration of Blair, tells me that it is extremely unlikely that we will be fortunate enough to see an incoming Labour government repealing the market-led reforms that successive governments have drooled over for the past couple of decades.

I’m muddled. Are you saying
(1) There won’t be another Labour government, or
(2) The next Labour government will be as committed to privatisation – in season or out – as the last one was?
In either case, you’re hardly encouraging people to join or re-join the Party/
The latter. And maybe, if that is the only reason they would join/rejoin.
…………….but surely, people will join/rejoin the Labour Party because they are “the only party capable of kicking the Tories out” (Bob Piper).
……..even if they privatise the NHS in the process.
They are not privatising the NHS stupid. We’ve had a general election, perhaps it slipped your mind.
