Going to pot (holes)

Now this is the sort of thing that local authority should have been doing for decades. It’s not rocket science, and shouldn’t have waited until government cuts before it was done.

“We’ve cut out the waste.  In the past, when a member of the public reported a pot hole, we sent someone out to confirm, yes it is a pot hole.  Then that person went back to their office and raised an order to fill the pot hole.  Someone else sent the order down to the depot – and someone at the depot raised a works ticket for filling the pot hole.  Then a depot supervisor went out to check that, yes, it’s still a pot hole – and then someone was sent out to fill in the pot hole.  Now, when someone reports a pot hole, we go out and fill it in”.
