I actually started to feel sorry for the old bastard at one point – I didn’t expect the face of evil to look so confused and vulnerable. On the other hand, I hope Murdoch is a religious man, because only a benign and loving God could forgive him for what he’s done over the past 42 years.

John I spoke to a few people who felt the same, a little sympathy for Murdoch R and thought Tom came across as a bit of a bully (not what I thought, you live by the sword etc). After yesterday what now for ‘hackgate’? Going about my work in the community it isn’t and hasn’t been a major topic of conversation, the fact that some coppers are corrupt, some journalists are corrupt, NOTW is a shitty newspaper and Murdoch didn’t get the nickname of the Dirty Digger for his charity work hasn’t suprised many people. See NI Shares are on the rise again after Rupe’s performance (or lack of it yesterday) I just hope that the process of enquiries etc doesn’t prolong it too much so people actually get fed up with the whole of ‘hackgate’

He did not answer questions, took long period of saying nothing, looked at his son, nobody believes Murdock is suffering memory problems, he was speaking a few days ago and my god he was on top form.

What he did yesterday was to say nothing, look like he was confused.

    Crafty old git.

Watching yesterday I thought even if this pair of evil scumbags get away with everything(wich somehow I don’t think they will, they may not end up as damaged as we would hope but I think they are going to be severely damaged by it all) the sheer enjoyment of seeing the bastards squirming is something that I will enjoy for the rest of my days. For all the very expensive preparation and coaching that evil snr. and evil jnr. undertook and as good an actor as the dirty digger may be, I don’t think that the performance was that stage managed; but even if it was, the sheer joy of seeing him, possibly the greatest media magnate in the world at present, having to sit there and be grilled by Tom Watson, Jim Sheridan, Paul Farrelly and to a lesser degree, by the Torie’s on the committee, and broadcast throughout the world particularly to his beloved t.v cesspit Fox News, was again sheer joy, orgasmic even, if I knew what that meant, or could remember what it felt like. And lets not forget, yesterday was possibly, a bit of showbusiness and as the Guardian and more than likely other newspapers have pointed out, even if nothing else comes out of the police enquirie’s between now ; and I think a trial starting in January(I think it’s a trial or a report) things will never be the same again for the pair of them. Quite honestly, looking at mini Murdochs performance in front of the camera’s I think he has damaged his chances of succeeding Ol’ Rupe as C.E.O. Of News Corp even if the share price has rallied, who know’s looking at how Wendi dived in to protect her investment/husband and how things can go wrong when empires and dynasties unravel, maybe she fancies a crack at the reins of News Corp when Ol’ Rupe shuffles off the scene. But even if they survive intact(highly unlikely) lets enjoy this moment, situations like this only come round once a flood.
