It would appear that the leaflet below was being circulated by Liberal Democrats in Scotland until a couple of weeks ago. According to a Scottish Liberal Democrat spokeswoman the leaflet has been withdrawn, and anyway, Vince Cable in comparing it to the Poll Tax was referring to Labour’s tuition fees in the rest of the UK.
Stunning hypocrisy.

Another thing that none of those few remaining Libservatives have not been able to explain is this.
They would tell you that they had to treble top-up fees because of the deficit and because we-did-not-know–how-bad-the-situation-is.
Now, even if you sip on the kool aid and buy that fib, it still makes ZERO sense.
Because the deficit is now. Their tuition fees regime will not bring in any repayments until at least 2016 and that will be just bits starting trickling in.
So how on earth would trebling tuition fees have any impact on the deficit?
LibDem hypocrisy never ceases to be utterly gobsmacking. Good point by Claude.
Cable may abstain from voting on tuition fees legislation he himself helped to draw up. It’s beyond a joke.
