Holocaust Memorial Day

A very moving ceremony of remembrance this morning for Holocaust Memorial Day in West Bromwich. Mrs. Magda Bloom, and 80-year-old survivor of Auschwitz and Belsen, frail and bent, made an emotional speech about how she had lost her entire family in Hitler’s death camps. The heart breaking story of how her seven-year-old brother had been taken away from her and her mother to be dispatched to the gas chambers was horrifying. And thanks, as always, to the Royal British Legion who led the remembrance ceremony and remembered their fallen comrades who had died liberating the victims of the Nazi death camps. And well done to Adrian Bailey MP for coming along to the ceremony. It was much appreciated by all.

A childish comment on a very serious issue. Why am I not surprised?

It sounds a very moving ceremony. It’s hard for us to get our heads around something so horrific, but we mustn’t ever forget its victims.
Newmania, Hitler’s use of the word ‘socialist’ in his party’s title was to bamboozle voters who would otherwise had voted communist or for another left-wing party. Hitler was hostile to socialism per se. In his early days he was helped by support from big business (they thought they could call the shots and control him – big mistake). To them he was preferable to the perceived communist threat.
I find it strange that some people feel they can’t support Labour because it’s somehow associated with either totalitarian communism or Nazism. As Wilson said, Labour owes more to Methodism than Marxism.

Not so he was helped by big business only when he wasalready powerful
As Wilson said, Labour owes more to Methodism than Marxism.
He said that at a period when the Labour movement was full of traitors actually working for the Soviet Union and most had been Stalinist sympathisers .That is why he said it
