A quick one before I go…

The inconvenient truths about Tory councils

A general election announcement could be less than eight weeks away if Gordon Brown plumps for a March poll. Whenever it happens, over 9 million people under the age of 30 will be eligible to vote next year – many for the first time – and they will have little memory of what the last Tory government of 1979 to 1997 looked and felt like. So it is crucial that Labour engages with the Tories as they are now, rather than harking back to yesteryear, and the best way to do this is to expose the activities of Tories who hold power around the country today.

Know them by what they do, not what they say. When it comes down to it, they are Tories. Leopards do not change their spots.

They do know about the New labour government though, my grandson will be one who votes for the first time, I know of nobody in my family who have voted Tory, we are all ex Miners steel workers or army family. But he has stated he has to vote Tory, because he feels labour has left down school leavers.
It’s going to be hard for Labour to win over the young, believe me.

But have you read the comments, it seems that fear of the consequences of a Conserative Govt. are just not going to be enough. I remember both the last Tory Govt. no more corrupt and self serving than the current incumbents and at least capable of keeping the economy together, I also remember the end of Callaghans Labour Govt. with the economy in collpase a bit like now. I have a strange feeling of Deja Vu.

…”at least capable of keeping the economy together”.
You’ve got to laugh. Over 4 million unemployed if counted as they are today…. and that’s “keeping the economy together!”
Keeping it for themselves you mean.
Robert, your grandson has clearly not been brought up properly. Perhaps someone in the family should sit him down and explain why there are no jobs in steel, mining, shipbuilding. You know… the things we used to do before Thatcher “kept the economy together” for us.

  5. Bob, good thought, 9 Million under the age of 30 and so poorly educated, because of your selves and the Tories, that even when you try engage with them, all they will see is what you have stolen from the people and be turned off voting because, lets face it, your all in it for what you can get.
Now I am sure your as clean as fresh driven snow, never fiddled an expense in your life, but I would put a 1 pound to a penny you can not prove it. (Then again, why should you.)

  6. Bob says:

That’s easily proved, ask under FoI.
You will find I have never even claimed anything in expenses.
