We are being run by foreigners, apparently

Jeff Randall, writing in The Times Telegraph rues the lack of British brains in charge of British industry… If Britain’s got talent, why are we being run by foreigners? the headline screams.
But despite the slightly jingoistic tone of the headline, which was probably written by some sub-editor anyway, we find Jeff isn’t too bothered about our major industries being foreign run or foreign owned, arguing (with no hint of irony) that Britain’s finest brains go into the City and banking.
Jeff Randall works for Sky TV and The Times Telegraph… those two pillars of British industry… owned by…. Ah, yes, I see.

    “the lack of British brains”
Entirely predictable given the steady, relentless decline in British education over the last 40 years, the fault of both governing parties.

  2. Tim Worstall says:

Randall works for Sky and the Telegraph….which is why his piece is in, erm, The Telegraph.

  3. Bob Piper says:

Tim, well spotted. Tek a boo, son. And the Telegraph are owned by British brains, although I don’t know what that tells us.
