An expert opinion

After the weekend revelations and the tabloid feeding frenzy, Michael Brown in The Independent says Jaqui Smith is now a joke.
And so she is. But is Michael Brown, who had to resign from John Major’s government after he was exposed in a News of the World story “Lawmaker is Lawbreaker”, really the best person to offer an opinion?

Yeah, they were good times, when gays could be hounded out of office like the dogs they are. Happy days.

  2. Matt London says:

Well, at least he DID resign – not much of that around with the present lot.

  3. Smith always was a joke and it’s ironic that the queen of the database state has been hoisted by her own petard; caught out by a computer billing system. I guess that what comes from spending taxpayers’ money on porn whilst trying to stop the rest of the nation from doing so. Nothing to hide, nothing to fear, eh Jaqui?
I haven’t stopped smiling since this story first broke.

  4. Bob Piper says:

Tim J…. yes…. that ‘liberal’ period was under the Conservatives, wasn’t it?

  5. Tim J says:

Bob – yup, sure was. Although it was really more the malevolent side of the tabloid press that was at play in Brown’s case, and that’s less of a party political issue.

  6. Chas says:

Bob, perhaps you should read Michael Brown’s article, to which you kindly provided the link. If you look further than the first paragraph you will see that he explains that when he was embarrassed by a tabloid expose, he resigned.
So the answer to your question, “is he really the best person to offer an opinion?” is yes, he most certainly is. Jacqui Smith should resign, just as Michael Brown did. There we are. That wasn’t complicated or hard to understand, even for a Marxist twat like you, was it?
With much love from a Tory boy toff from a public school.

  7. Bob says:

You’re far too kind to the jerk, but then, perhaps you identify with him given that you are sending me your love (although you’re ok, I’m over 21). He resigned because he was told by Major he would be sacked if he didn’t.
Brown broke the law, Smith didn’t… surely even a boss-eyed tory twat like you can tell that. Mind… you went to public school, so apart from a regular spanking (did you enjoy that) you probably didn’t learn much else.
