Mike Smithson wonders what the Lib Dems would do if there was a hung Parliament based around this result.

“I like posing this to Lib Dems because it goes to the heart of their demands for fair votes. Would they keep in power the party that had lost so much and was so far behind?”

Silly sod. He still naively believes the Lib Dems would make their minds up based on “fair votes” or some other daft concept, whereas everybody and their dog, with any experience of the Lib Dems at all, knows they would go with whoever offers them the best and most lucrative positions in any coalition.

I should think that having to choose, effectively, between Tories and Labour is the last thing the Lib Dems want to have to do. It will screw them as there are substantial parts of their party who hate Labour or the Tories (or both) and will leave or become less active.
And, of course, it gives rise to a simple slogan to attack the Lib Dems – vote Lib, get Lab or vote Lib, get Tory.
    xD.
