Gordon Brown nearly run over by a London bus

What If Gordon Brown Went Under A London Bus? Now, that’s a headline to get those little Tory hearts beating. Harry Barnes recalls the day it nearly happened… and speculates on whether, should it actually happen, whoever is the acting as interim PM would be in pole position to take over (whisper this if you’re near Margaret Beckett).

ha ha. I once saw Tony Blair, a couple of years before he was leader, neraly get knocked over on westminster Bridge. Holy cow, we’d be in the 29th year of Tory rule and all be in the Lib Dems if that had happened. :)

reminds me of the joke about a man stuck in a queue of traffic who notices just up ahead a policeman going from car to car with his upturned helmet.
He gets to this mans window and he asks “whats happened ?”
The Policeman replies ” The PM (select relevent person) has been in a accident up ahead. petrol everywhere and the firecrews are doing their best to get him out. He was just having a collection for the PM. ”
The man asks bemused ” What have you collected so far ?”
To which the policeman replies ” seventeen lighters and 6 boxes of matches with several offers of more petrol. ”

  3. Wouldn’t that have been rather a bumpy ride for the passengers?

It would be a field day for “puns” in The Sun and other tabloids.
Gordon blindsided by car etc etc. Lots of not to sutle remarks about how he did not see it coming, still we can but live in hope.
