Tory TV

18 Doughty Street tried to pretend it wasn’t Tory TV by claiming it was ‘anti-establishment TV’… and in so doing they suckered in a few ‘lefty’ and middle-of-the-road bloggers and the occasional Peter Tatchell to spread their message. OK, they did so with good intent, they thought they were putting over a balanced perspective to the stream of Tory propaganda… but anyone who watched it for more than a couple of programmes must surely have realised the futility of that game… they were being used.
Pete’s blog exposes their original idea… and the deception. See also Tim Ireland at Bloggerheads.

  1. I know that I fit into the grumpy old men category even still, I have recently become somewhat disillusioned by 18DS. It started off with a bang but now I feel that it is more like a damp squib. I wish they would not keep disturbing the tramps off their park benches to grace the couches of the 18DS studio, I feel that it is lowering the tone of the neighbourhood…

Isn’t it a few doors along from the Spectator head office.
Of course it’s Tory TV, if my broadband worked like they said it would I’d tell you what I thought of it.

  3. Bob, if you read my blog (tut, tut), you’d have seen I’d also blogged on this theme on 6th February.
