Strangely, that fearsome “non-tory” fighter for freedom, justice and truth Guido Fawkes doesn’t appear to have got a handle on this piece of political cronyism.
Tom has got copies of the letters exposing Boris Johnson’s latest piece of sheer arrogance in appointing the woman who edited Boris’ election material the Evening Standard during his election campaign. I quote from her Wikipedia page…
During her time at the Standard, the newspaper was particularly critical of the then London Mayor, Ken Livingstone. This came to a head in the run-up to the 2008 London mayoral election, in which Wadley’s newspaper aggressively attacked Livingstone each day. According to articles in The Guardian and Time Out London, she was strongly influenced by the need to renew Associated Newspaper’s multi-million pound contract to deliver the Metro free paper in London Underground stations in 2010, a decision within the gift of the Mayor.
I’m sure, however, that by tomorrow all of those outraged Tories who wanted Blair’s head on a platter over cronyism will be foaming at the mouth over Johnson’s disgraceful arrogance.
Or not.

To be fair, cronyism is only one of the reasons people want Blair’s head on a platter. At least it is for me.
I wouldn’t argue with that Charlie.
Boris has got a long long long long long way to go until he matches Blair’s love of cronyism.
LFaT… you reckon? He’s only been in office for 17 months and he has been losing his friends (ooops, sorry, deputies) at a rate of knots.
I always find it amusing the way Tories defend corruption by suggesting there was someone else who was worse. But then when you point out the obscenities of the thatcher era they say, “ah, we’ve changed” or “that was history”.
Why not be honest and admit it? If you can find any instances of me defending Blair’s behaviour on here, just let me know will you.
Little wonder this country and the world is in a mess Thatcher, Major, Blair, and Brown, and next Cameron, phew what a nightmare. Not forgetting the problem started with Kinnock, the dream machine from Neath
