Having spent the last decade dedicating his life to getting rid of Speaker Martin it must be upsetting for him to have to start all over again with Speaker Bercow.

Margaret, it happened for a few years. We elected a 'Chairman of the Council' to Chair council meetings, but it wasn't much different to the Mayorality. The Mayor, in theory, is supposed to deal with the meeting in a neutral way.

Hmmn! But he 'sussed out' that Jock thickoe a lot quicker than most 'observers of the political scene' including, dare I mention it, our genial but not very perceptive host. (Well, it's not really his fault, he will let his prejudices obstruct his views!)

I have thought of going over and campaigning against him myself in his constituency. It could hardly be worse could it , a corrupt lying crawler who sold his supporters out and was elected on the basis he was the person who would most infuriate Conservatives. I need hardly say that this act of contitutional vandalism on behalf of the departing Labour Party is about as welcome as you last guest throwing up on your carpet on the way out.
