How Embarrassing Is That?   » Permalink  |  TrackBack (0)

When it comes to exchanging parliamentary tittle-tattle, you've got to give it to the man... Iain Dale is the master. No-one does it better.

But when it comes to discussing serious political issues, he's about as much use as a chocolate ironing board! Today's analysis (no, sorry, glib comments) on the US and UK response to the situation in Iran plumbs new depths though. Just have a quick flick through the comments below the piece to see that even the Dalettes are deeply embarrassed by his nonsense.

Cameron's own soundbite comments have displayed his own desperation for a headline, irrespective of how comical the content. Dale's slavish desire to suck up to his leader have only succeeded in showing why he should leave the heavy stuff alone and stick to the gossip.

In a whole host of poor and useless articles this Cameron puppet has had to write on behalf of Conservative HQ, this has got to be his most stupid. What a plank!

Well, that was a detailed and rigorous analysis to show Dale how to do it. No "tittle tattle", "glib comments" or 'ad homs' in any of that and certainly nothing to, er, be "deeply embarrassed" about. Well done, Councillor, well up to your usual standard!

I didn't feel the necessity to do a forensic job on it... the Dalettes had already ripped him a new arse for us.

Are you not a bit old to be a Dalette, Duffers? It's not very becoming to see you in a cheerleaders leotard.

Pfft. Well, having read the comment thread there, if you think that was as an example of where "the Dalettes had already ripped him a new arse for us", I think you may have been a trifle underexposed to some of the more robust and frank exchanges of viewpoint available on the internet.

Oh, and by the way, I'm sure it was far from your mind, but if a Conservative councilor had made a similar comment about ripping an openly gay political opponent a 'new arse' you would have had something to say about it. A little consistency please.

BTW. Loved the post about the Miners Strike.

(For the benefit of younger readers of this blog, Bob was referring to an industrial dispute in the 1980's. For the benefit of older readers, imagine Michael Foot complaining about Eden's handling of the Suez crisis in the 1979 election campaign, and I think you'll get some idea of the relevancy of that post.)

Mr Jolly, you politically correct folk do become very tiresome... although considering Dale has described a female Lib Dem candidate as a 'whore' I'm sure you will be lodging your protest there too.

As for the post on the miners' strike, I realise we have to go back in to history in order to remind people of the evils of a Tory government, but that's just the way things are, thank goodness. In the 1979 election campaign Michael would only have to cast his mind back five years to remind people of the iniquities of the vile Heath administration, fortunately these days we have to delve further back in time.

Finally, a night on television set aside for reminding people of the events of 25 years ago is highly likely to focus on events..... errrm, 25 years ago. Funny that.

Just for the record, I have never read or even glanced at Ian Dale's blog.

I'll believe you old fellah... thousands wouldn't. But perhaps it is a little lesson for you. If you read what I am referring you to, it might just help to make your comments a little more coherent.

I don't hold out much hope though.

Yet another one of Iain's proudest moments. He may be a conservative, but his blog reflects his arrogant, snide personality, and this post just hits the full 100 on the stupidity scale.

As a result of your, er, well, less than analytical description of Ian Dale's post on Iran I actually went over and read it.

He is now firmly logged on my "Favourites" list.

Oh goody goody gum drops. It is so nice to be able to introduce like-minded people to each other. It will also give you something else to do when you finish your jig-saws and your aircraft modeling kits.

Nice one, Councillor, I laughed out loud.

I wonder if duffy has ever visited newmania's blog? It would be great to see the two intellectual giants of the Conservative movement together, a true dream match made in heaven.
