I'll shed no tears over this.

If anything justifies another can of Red Stripe, it's this.

Now now, no need for 'bitchiness' - lets keep things 'civil' shall we?

We all knew what he was about, he like Blair believed in the principle of making money lots of it, then retiring to some cushy job perhaps heading up some nice little earner for a charity or something.

Can we please naff off with the idea that it's somehow "New Labour" to behave like this? The Labour Party as a whole have been behaving like this for decades. Julian Hodge and Jim Callaghan anyone? Neil Kinnock anyone?

Part of the reason I joined the Liberals is because I want to help rather than feather my own nest. Both Labour and the Tories need to start tackling this behaviour, it's long overdue.

The Liberals i'm pleased to say score very well on this particular point, and will do better when Rennard is booted to the kerb.

You're right. In general the liberals do better in terms of accepting external appointments. I suspect that is because business tend to go for people with some experience of actually RUNNING something succesfully, which tends to rule them out.
