The views expressed here are mine in a personal capacity, not those of the Labour Party, Sandwell MBC, Aston Villa or Yorkshire County Cricket Club. Get it! Mine... just mine!
If there is a shudder down the backs of US citizens this morning it will be if they think there is the vaguest possibility that Barak Obama bears will bear even the slightest resemblence to star wars Ronnie. Spending your way out of economic problems by feeding the military war machine is surely not the change people have voted for.
Just did my Obama post - I didn't see a second of it on TV but it's nice to be in Africa when the first African American is voted into the White House.
Dale's comments are frankly bizarre - if there was anybody that you don't want Obama to turn into then it's Reagan. I don't think he gets it. I don't think BO is politics - I think he shows how you can win without just doing the focus group stuff. Most importantly you have to inpspire and people do like positivity.
Also been discussing today just how poorly our own candidates in the next election look next to Obama.
America gets Barack Obama - we get a posh lad from Eton. Maybe you really do get the leader you deserve.
I am also wondering if UK politicians will tone down all that anti-migration rhetoric now. Don't suppose it would go down well with the Whitehouse - perhaps even the tabloids might realise it looks a bit silly too.
There, typed all that without mentioning football.

On that last point, I'm extremely grateful - it was bad enough being chided by Gary Elsby for losing to Stoke!
