The Tory lead was 26% in May, 24% in August, 22% in September before the Party Conferences. Along comes young Gideon and his russian caper.... and lo and behold we up our vote, and our share of the vote in Glenrothes and the opinion polls are talking single figure leads.
It's a great mistake to think that the numpties who leave comments on websites such as those you mention are really representative of true Tory thinking.
These entertainingly communicative people are in no way typical of members or supporters of the Conservative Party who are, in general, far more apoplectically embittered, much fonder of simplistic solutions and considerably more dismissive of the efforts of their fellow humans...

True true, but Tory share hasn't fallen below 40% and is still between 42-5 in most polls (he says, hoping the weekend doesn't change that!). The cut in the Tory lead has only partially come from the Conservatives, mostly it has come from the Lib Dems and Others.
I think we can agree that Osborne hasn;t exactly covered himself in glory in the past 6 weeks but don't write him off yet.
Hey... don't mistake me for someone who wants to get rid of him. My point was quite the opposite. If they swap him for that fat bloke who works for the fag companies we could find we had a proper challenge.
Most who post on blogs are pissed off about whatever, and they want to give vent to their anger without the risk of getting their ears boxed. These same posters are usually timid little underlings in the real world and that's why they do it. Most folk don't care about blogs or bloggers, but they do understand that Gordon has at last come out of his shell and is doing a bloody good job. Labour will probably now win the next election, and Cameron and the other fellow will go back to doing what rich people do.
I couldn't agree more Bob. Osborne does not have a clue how to deal with a Gordon Brown who is proving to be more right wing than even the most right wing Tory.

He certainly is Bob, after all Tories still anything from 9 to 16 points ahead in the opinion polls! ;)
