This must be a wind-up. It will make Tim and many others choke on their Rice Krispies.

82% of respondents believe he is in fact too humble and only 1% believe he is embarrassingly self-obsessed.

That's a fact, I made it up myself.

the key word is "normally". I would have thought a policy which meant if you got something wrong you "always" apologised would be better.
Afterall - doesn't he demand the same of his political opponents?

That's quite a credible statistic when you consider the extraordinary measures Iain takes to hide his mistakes (up to and including outright comment deletions).

But the other data is even more amusing...

With it, Iain has just skewered his Total Politics poll, which he has been trying to pass off as an across-the-board event; instead it should have been labelled a poll of Conservative voters.

Here's the quick version:

1. Compare the top ten in these two lists; they are almost identical, and would be even closer to identical if Iain's blog appeared in both lists:
http://iaindale.blogspot.com/2008/10/blogs-you-read-every-day.html
http://iaindale.blogspot.com/2008/09/total-politics-top-100-uk-political.html

In a shocking coincidence, Iain Dale's readers happen to agree with everyone else in the political blogosphere! How about that, eh?

2. And if we're to believe that, then we cannot escape the conclusion that 70% of the blog-reading population vote Conservative and have done for years:
http://iaindale.blogspot.com/2008/10/how-you-vote.html

This is twice now that Dale himself has offered the data that shows him to be a complete fraud. I'm sure most of you recall the first:
http://www.bloggerheads.com/archives/2008/04/iain_dale.asp

I'm gonna love writing this one up.... but first, I'm going to telegraph my movements and beg Iain to produce data that he thinks proves me wrong.

Chances are it'll save me a great deal of time and effort.

Over to Iain, then...

(PS - 75% of Iain's readers probably think that his magazine subscribes to the PCC code. I doesn't, BTW.)

And 100% of Marxists think he spouts bo***cks 99% of the time (1% mark for some anti-yank sentiment on occasion).

Still, he's better than Mr. Staines.....which is like saying it's better to eat Poodle sh*t rather than Pit-Bull sh*t, but there you go.

Keep up the good work destroying Tories and 'Libertarians' on here, Comrade P.

I see it's Ireland's time of the month again.

I see Iain Dale manages to offer a concise and considered rebuttle once again.

Oh no wait a minute...

A diversion/insult from Mr Dale? Never!

So, Iain, can we take it from this that you have no further comment on the poll conducted by the 'politically neutral' magazine Total Politics producing near-to-identical results to another poll of your readers, 70% of whom are Conservative voters?
http://www.bloggerheads.com/archives/2008/10/total_politics_poll.asp

While I have you on the line, perhaps you'd also care to comment on your little rag being one of the (very) few magazines in this country that doesn't subscribe to the PCC code?

Or are you going to tell us (and your board of editors) that what really matters is my menstrual cycle?

A not-at-all-sexist and not-at-all-moronic response from Iain Dale, there ... Why isn't this man a Tory PPC?!
