One man's freedom fighter...   » Permalink  |  TrackBack (0)

John McCain as part of the televised Presidential debate...

"Our problem is that, when we drove the Russians out of Afghanistan... when the Afghan freedom fighters drove the Russians out of Afghanistan... we turned our backs on them..."
They just don't get it, do they? Still, after that, they all closed ranks behind Israel. What was that about "Time for Change"? Dream on. Same old, same old.

I was hard put to spot any difference between the two on foreign policy. Obama sounded just like Bush over the last eight years. Highly disappointing when the world needs some serious change.

And here's a bit of background reading about Afghanistan for those that may not know the full story: http://www.globalresearch.ca/articles/BRZ110A.html

The sheer arrogance of the man with the plan is still shocking two decades later as we live with the results.

I think McCain should be a little more worried about the US voters turning their back on him right now.

They both will bow down to corporate pressure, they always do.

"I wanna tell ya my friendsth...". Don't you think he sounds more like Hughie Green the longer the campaign goes on? And a little bit less shinchere?

John Lilburne - the staggering thing about Brzezinski is that he was a National Security Adviser to the Democrats, (which probably explains why we should have no great expectations of Obama) although as I recall, paradoxically for a man of such right-wing views, he advocated Bush should enter into a dialogue with Hamas.

John, yes, that "friends" bit made my skin crawl too.

@ Bob,

Yes, it is staggering but I think Brzezinski's place of birth may have had more than a slight influence on his feelings about the USSR. Poland and Russia have been taking each other's territories for centuries. No love lost there at all.
