Bob Piper has been a Labour Councillor for the Abbey Ward in Sandwell, West Midlands, for 10 years. He is a lifelong supporter of Aston Villa Football Club and a follower of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

They've only gone and done it again. Conservative run Birmingham City Council have once again mistaken the City they are supposed to run... with Birmingham Alabama. Political Hack has the story here.

And as Hack points out... the Tories have form on this one... don't say Tom didn't warn them!

Of course, the real idiocy is that when they thought to themselves:

"How can we encourage recycling and thank the citizens of Birmingham for increasing recycling rates in the past"

The answer was:

"Print over 700,000 leaflets and distribute them across the city".

Want to bet on the percentage that went straight into the recycling bins (or just the normal bins, even).
