On Healthy Eating - Part 1...

Committee member James Hutchings, a Conservative councillor for Edgbaston, said the amount of food routinely thrown away by large institutions and supermarkets left him speechless. He added: "I eat lots of things that are years out of date, it's never harmed me," he dribbled.

Do not know a few Tories with chips will go down well, mind you how will you tell the difference between Tories and Purnell Hutton and Milidband I've no idea.

Got to say it's unlikely that Cllr Hutchings dribbled. The man has the constitution of an ox, and is probably in better physical shape (a touch of arthritis aside) than either you or me, Bob - and I'm nearly 30 years his junior.

What a bunch of *****. "Atheistic views"? What's wrong with atheistic views? What do they want, a tag team between Mohammed Sawalha and Lilian Ladele?

I am proud to hold "atheistic views", & regularly visit websites expressing such views. If religion is so good, let the religious argue their beliefs like everyone argues any other set of beliefs that have no evidence whatsoever.

It's stime to stop priviliging "faith", it's an unfounded assertion with a lot less evidence for it than the things I believe in.

The "faith"ists haven't got a leg to stand on, which is why they tru to shut down debate & force us all to genuflect before their superstitions.

I for one will not be silenced in my calls for a superstition-free world in which women's education, contraception, emancipation, gay rights, scientific progress & free thought go on without us all being locked into cages of self-censorship.

If there's a god, let him punish sinners himself, don't get involved. If you think women should be behind a veil, don't force them into one, just wait for your god to strike them down. Oh, wait, that's never going to happen.

Sorry for the length...

Bob, I calculate that sandwell residents (not supermarkets) throw away 1 Million pounds worth of food per week . 50M+ per year.
