Bob Piper has been a Labour Councillor for the Abbey
Ward in Sandwell, West Midlands, for nine years. He is a lifelong supporter of Aston Villa Football Club and a follower of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

West Bromwich fundraiser Blind Dave Heeley, flush with success from running seven marathons on seven continents in seven days, has accepted a new challenge... seven pubs in seven towns in seven hours!
That's more like it, I thought, that's the sort of challenge I like... until I found out the daft bugger was running it! Mind you, I've drunk in the Fiery Holes in Moxley back in the day, and if my memory serves me well I think going back there might be a challenge too far.
Bloody hell, you free marketers, there's just no pleasing you is there. You can by beer cheaper now than you could ten years ago down at your local Tescos. You can't blame the government if the market means people shop elsewhere.
Next thing we know you'll be after greater regulation. Strewth!
