I assume ZinZin is referring to the not knowing what a shower is comment. An attack on his Irish heritage perhaps? I'm not aware that Paul is known for poor personal hygiene or anything like that so it does seem a rather odd comment.

I don't think he is calling him anything of the sort, and if he had been the remark would not have appeared on the site. I suspect JHL doesn't know anything of Staines' heritage. I certainly didn't (nor care) and it appears Sam didn't either.

No, I can't explain it, I didn't make the comment. I just so happen to think that some people jump to the 'racist' conclusion whenever they can, and casually throwing around the 'r' word devalues the whole issue.

Perhaps JHL just thought that as Staines spends so much time raking muck he wouldn't be familiar with the concept of cleanliness. As I say, I don't know, but I have never seen any indication of racism from JHL so I'm prepared to give him the benefit.
