Bob Piper has been a Labour Councillor for the Abbey
Ward in Sandwell, West Midlands, for nine years. He is a lifelong supporter of Aston Villa Football Club and a follower of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
The views expressed here are mine in a personal capacity, not those of the Labour Party, Sandwell MBC, Aston Villa or Yorkshire County Cricket Club. Get it! Mine... just mine!
If you want to know what's wrong with this country... look no further than here. Is there anything sadder than middle-aged men trying to pretend they are still young by wearing fancy trainers? I think not.
To make it worse... this is why the man wants new laces.
I haven't worn laces out, I just have blue Airwalks with blue laces and want a set of white/cream laces for them because I am vain.
If a certain Tory blogger, who shall remain nameless to protect the victims of his drink driving (and without insurance), goes to prison and does not intend to commit suicide with his laces, perhaps he would leave them outside the prison gate for Dizzy?
Is there anything sadder than middle-aged men trying to pretend they are still young by wearing fancy trainers?
I'm middle-aged and wear fancy trainers, partly because I'm clinging to my fading youth but also - and this is the getting old bit kicking in - they're bloody comfortable and last for ages.
Vanity and prudence all rolled into one. Cake had and eaten.

He may think that the word "Cobblers" is a gerogatory term?
sicth was a great typo of our time which was meant to say sixth. You know, that place in the Premiership that doesn't get a spot in UEFA. As for reeling me in Bob, saying Jesus wept should be indicative enough to realise that I was despairing at the absurdity of your post.

Jeeze, he's only in his early thirties! What counts as middle aged these days?
