Bob Piper has been a Labour Councillor for the Abbey
Ward in Sandwell, West Midlands, for nine years. He is a lifelong supporter of Aston Villa Football Club and a follower of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
The views expressed here are mine in a personal capacity, not those of the Labour Party, Sandwell MBC, Aston Villa or Yorkshire County Cricket Club. Get it! Mine... just mine!
Hallo Bob ,perhaps you are unaware that after the anti family budget Labour have gone 16 % behind and are now on the lowest level of support for 25 years.
Newmania, as bob isn't around i thought i would call you a Tory Twat instead.
You must be relived to see that 10 years of progressive, re-distributive government coming to an end.
Afterall who wants economic growth, rising lving standards, global compassion, low interest rates, low inflation, record employemnt rates, higher education for all and a huge reducion in child poverty.
Lets just hope those nice Eton Tories win and bring all that to an end. Bring on unemployment, yuppies, business running everything and inner city decline. Let the the bland suburbs run the country and say sod off to the rest of the world. Let's have poorly paid teachers, nurses & Police again. Oh and lets not forgot homophobia and zenophobia. Lets say screw the environment and raise a class to the return of Thatcher's children.

It is not progress to remove money from those who earn it and give it to those who do not and the social effects have been a disaster . Economic growth was well under way prior to Blair let alone Brown and the results of his profligacy in that period are now becoming apparent . Our growth has been the lowest in the Anglosphere , our borrowing the highest in the world barring three and government spending increased by 30 % for no results and actually worse results on education and health. In addition the country has been sold to the EU and the immigration has been uncontrolled. The economic indicators you mention are all the same thing. Reductions in child poverty based on literally handing over taxes are not sustainable improvements and the increase in low level crime and the continued poor educational results associated with these are evidence this is only throwing money at the problem.
In effect when we had years to water and irrigate Labour have thrown a flash flood at tbeir client groups and not addressed the real issue which they cannot. It is that socialism does not work. Meanwhile for the working population living standards have actually declined in the period of highest world growth we have ever known. There are no more public school educated Tories than labour MPs who are in fact conspicuously from higher and aristocratic classes , not that it matters . The suburbs are where the average family live on whatever they can get in a competitive economic environment. Others cannot have free ride and the tired old association of being the Party of the nation with homophobia and racism is out wind
Your contempt for value for the taxpayer , ordinary families , the nation and our Liberties are duly noted . On the environment, I think the Conservative Party are probably more interested than labour but I agree with Brown here . Its a luxury issue . Unemployment in the 80s was the result of trade unions closed shops and the misguided policies of Callaghan and the Unions. You seem a shallow cipher and what you think is a political philosophy is actually a smorasborg of trendy slogans .Thanks for solving the unemployment problem in Warsaw again at our expense .I think the entire country is sick of this jejune twaddle and I would suggest you no longer bore people obliged to work for a living with your crapulous self gratifying imbecilic essays and had them in to your prattling formerly known as Toynbee Polly tutor

Not that you're trying to rub it in or anything.
