Hasta la Victoria Siempre! Companero Fidel   » Permalink  |  TrackBack (0)

Cuba prepares for life without Castro. Adios Fidel:

By any measure, the US embargo has been utterly counterproductive. Not only has it failed to hasten the demise of Mr Castro and the return of democracy. Most dispassionate observers believe the blockade has positively hindered those two goals, by hardening the sympathies of a strongly nationalistic people, and permitting Mr Castro to present himself as a victim of Yanqui imperialism. Quite possibly nothing would do more to undermine the regime than the lifting of all US sanctions.

Why would Cubans want to buy American goods when they clearly live in a socialist utopia that already provides them with everything they need!?!

Viva Gary.

As the hoarding states outside Havana Airport

"Tonight, millions of children will sleep on the streets around the world.
Not one of them will be in Cuba."

Says it all, really......

Love the bit about Gordon Brown wanting 'Democracy' to be initiated upon Fidel's departure.

Er...Gordon, how about OMOV for you as leader!
