How many years can some people exist, before they're allowed to be free...   » Permalink  |  TrackBack (0)

I've been particularly impressed with the standards of some bloggers of late. Septicisle on The Plight of Gaza is a fine example.

After all, what is exactly "usual" about life in Gaza? The only thing truly regular that we in the West see there is the protests and funerals; it's far too dangerous now for anyone other than local journalists to report on the territory, after Alan Johnson's kidnap last year, and so we hear very little about the crushing helplessness, the constant anger and fear, or the despair of a people that have long had all their hopes and dreams obliterated, of any kind of progress or improvement in their harsh lives.

I cannot believe the international community has just sat there and ignored the fact that Israel has cut off gaza from the outside world, which is probably killing people as I write this.

Absolutely sickening.

Perhaps Israeli children should head Katusha rockets back into Gaza then, Bob.

And then they will all live happily ever after.

Wrong. They are Qassam rockets from Gaza, Gary.

But is that really the most constructive suggestion you can come up with? Well what a positive response it is. Sometimes I am ashamed of my fellow Labour Party members.

No doubt you adopt a more traditional passivity over the Israeli air raids and invasions, the long term closure of Gaza's borders by Israel and resulting food shortages, the cut-off of power and fuel, the bombing and closure of their airport and all you can do is twitter about some rockets.

I'm so impressed by your humanitarian concern.

Bob, the list of people who are ashamed of me in Sandwell grows larger by the day and is welcome.

The list of people in Stoke (sandwell puppets) who are ahamed of me is also most welcome.

The list of eople in Stoke who look at me as the 'saviour of Stoke:-) is growing like a triffid.

Bob, I regard the rule of launching a world war upon a Germany that did not fire a single shot at England as being just.

I thought the outcome of Poland retaining the status quo after the war (a new landlord) as being unjust and shameful.

Gaza, alas, is as pitiful as it goes by modern standards but launching rockets into Hilary Clinton's election camp would be counter-productive to Democracy, I think.

So in the world I live in (God bless the people's Republic!)I don't think it's cricket to collapse a childrens nursery with terroist rockets of any description.

It's just a thought that I have that makes me believe that terrorism is the world's evil that the world is united to destroy as best we can.

Long live Israel and the people of Israel. As far as I'm concerned, a free hand now again doesn't go amiss.

I do hope you've seen the film, 'raid on Entebe', it sort of shows courage.

Gary
