Bob Piper has been a Labour Councillor for the Abbey
Ward in Sandwell, West Midlands, for nine years. He is a lifelong supporter of Aston Villa Football Club and a follower of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
The views expressed here are mine in a personal capacity, not those of the Labour Party, Sandwell MBC, Aston Villa or Yorkshire County Cricket Club. Get it! Mine... just mine!
Just in case people ever forget.... thank you, Louise.
She was the first major politician seriously to warn of global warming. Despite the ludicrous caricature of her public image, she was a champion of social justice....
.....I hope, in Parliament, to be proved worthy of the noble, moral name of Thatcherite, that I will always look first to the weak and the helpless and hope to improve their situation...
Well, that's it, first prize in the competition for the most sycophantic, vomit inducing pile of horse manure written anywhere in 2007. No contest.
I just loved this in the comments section.....
Yeah, such a convinced Thatcherite that she voted Labour in 1997, after being a Labour Party member. Really, pass the sick bag. In fact, make it two. The second one is for a good chuck in remembrance of a petted, A-List cronycon pushed forward by the very cynical people who've used her in this fashion. Or, as has been noted on this thread, Bagshawe in fact having the polar opposite of Margaret Roberts own trajectory after Oxford.

You have to admit when people like this go over the top, my god do they go over.
Touch the hem of her skirt, to low down it's her throat I'd have liked to get my hands on.
When Blair said she was a great leader and should have a state funeral, I thought he was saying drop dead or something, but he was being nice to her, then Brown invited the old cow to Number 10, that as to much for me, I left Labour the next day.
But to be honest for some reason in the past ten years I cannot believe the politics we have, Labour following Thatcher, the Tories following Labour.
The one thing I know if somebody wrote this on the Labour party site it would be removed, by me.

I also voted for Blair in 97 , Trust me it is possible to detest Labour , socialism and everything that the rancid cesspit of lies that is the Labour Party stands for and vote Blair in 97.
If you think that's sycophantic you obviously haven't been reading the 'Order of the Brown Nose' (Private Eye ?). Oona King claiming that she preferred ,'listening to Gordon Brown' to 'having sex' was a highlight , . His best friend after all would hardly claim he was a thrilling speaker. Then what about Brown himself claiming (belatedly ) and for motives I cannot begin to guess at (ahem) , that he is in love with Britishness, always admired Margaret Thatcher and has accepted the Friedmanite orthodoxy ( so says Denis McShane ) .. Who else does he admire , General Pinochet ?
We are at an interesting point here . I appreciate you take little interest in politics with weighty orthographical matters to concern you , but John Kamfner today was suggesting brown has to decide which way he is going . Rachel Sylvester the Blairite pundit , quotes a source...' Its not that Brown is going backwards or forwards he is going sideways like a crab...leading to nothingness'
By undermining the academy scheme and sabotaging choice and private provision in the NHS Brown was quietly tacking left but I think it is clear he will lose on this course .
A while ago a few of us speculated that Brown would take a daring dash right probably on IHT in his first 100 days and I bet he wishes he had. If he is going to save himself at the Polls he has to head sharp right back into Blair territory and beyond which is where the middle now sits . Personally I think it would take a man of far greater boldness than he has ever shown to even try and to be fair he owes the Unions and 'Labour is best when its Labour' head bangers too many favours . Once again we are depending on his cowardice because if he out Blaired Blair the grumbling left would be forced to out up with it and he might just win.
PS Did you know you look a bit like the Queen Mother ?
And during this season of goodwill, a Happy New year to Newmania, who at least appears to have persuaded his mom to buy him a spell checker for Christmas so that he no longer has to litter his lunatic rants with the sort of spelling mistakes an 11 year old would be ashamed of... although sadly, it doesn't appear to have taught him the art of placing punctuation marks correctly, but, who knows, give the lad time.
As for the Queen Mother, I can't see it really, but then, I have no facial hair and all of my own teeth (well, there is the one missing right at the back, but it doesn't show) and what hair I do have isn't blue... so all in all, it's a bit difficult to judge.
