Bob Piper has been a Labour councillor for the Abbey
Ward in Sandwell, West Midlands, for eight years. He is a lifelong supporter of Aston Villa Football Club and a follower of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
The views expressed here are mine in a personal capacity, not those of the Labour Party, Sandwell MBC, Aston Villa or Yorkshire County Cricket Club. Get it! Mine... just mine!
He's a man after my own heart. However, I don't think it will catch on. After the 1 million marched on London they went home to watch Neighbours or whatever. And the Iraq war continued. Now we are getting the same noises being made in relation to Iran. I suspect that the decline and fall of the American empire will come after my lifetime. Then it will be the Chinese empire that holds the power.
In any event, I enjoyed the programme. Much of it I already knew but it was worth being reminded that democracy does not exist. As I understand it, every revolution in history started in prison. Time prisoners got the vote.

Ha Ha, maybe I'll pass it on to our citizenship department at school, see what use we can make of it!
