Bob Piper has been a Labour Councillor for the Abbey Ward in Sandwell, West Midlands, for nine years. He is a lifelong supporter of Aston Villa Football Club and a follower of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

Our Man in Newcastle is content - a dangerous state of affairs in my view - and has decided to ease up on the blogging in order to spend more time with his camera. In a way, I'm not surprised, he takes some stunning photographs. He should be working for the Tyneside Tourist Board because they show the North East in a totally different way to the way it is usually portrayed in the media. Just look at this... stunning.
