Bob Piper has been a Labour Councillor for the Abbey
Ward in Sandwell, West Midlands, for 10 years. He is a lifelong supporter of Aston Villa Football Club and a follower of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
The views expressed here are mine in a personal capacity, not those of the Labour Party, Sandwell MBC, Aston Villa or Yorkshire County Cricket Club. Get it! Mine... just mine!
Nadine Dorries has the sort of name that reads like an anagram (Inane disorder seems appropriate) but it is in fact the name of a rather silly Conservative MP. She has been well and truly 'fisked' in the past by Unity who described Dorries wonderfully as 'rather like Marlene from Only Fools and Horses (minus the steadying influence of Boycie)' Today Dorries' post tells us about how she had gone in to the debate on an enquiry into the Iraq war which the Tories called yesterday. And this is what she had to say...
I was complimented by no less than eight MPs and two government ministers yesterday. I preened my way through the afternoon under a barrage of praise with a smile all over my face. The compliments ranged from, “love the hair", "very cute” to “gorgeous hair sweetie”. Did this surprise me? Well actually it did, but it didn’t stop me lapping it up!
God's teeth! I bet they are grateful for that in Bagdhad tonight.
Old Dale and Dorries between them are pretty good value. Nad is so unlikely to be booted out or to stop blogging ridiculously that we have a generation of fisking and jeering to look forward to.
Hopefully Cameron will make her a minister as Dale advises.
A slip of the tongue surely, Mr Paul? Didn't you mean shadow minister?

Sorry for posting a comment off topic, but I really would like to make sure you see this, as I am certain you will have an opinion Bob and so will others. Remember this post?
The candidate Big Col now endorses for the Fib Dems stood AGAINST his gopher Robin Lawrence as an independant candidate only FIVE WEEKS!!!!! ago in the Park Ward of Wolverhampton South West local election. She also came 5th out of , er, 5 candidates polling a massive 110 votes (approx 1.2% of the electorate).
Rotund Ross says that she joined the Fib Dems "earlier this year", although he isn't any more precise in the detail. If she was a member of the party prior to May 5th, then she stood against her own parties official candidate! If however she joined afer May 5th (which for the mathematically challenged means she has been a member of Old Porky's Party for less than five weeks), then why has she been given such a plum candidacy ahead of other longer serving party members and activists?
I've heard rumours that as an independant candidate Mrs Darke put out literature along the lines of "I am the only truly independant voice because I am not constrained by a political party" - like I say, only rumours, but I do hope they are true!
One thing I know for certain is that Mrs Darke did actually bother to attend the count at the last local elections in Wolverhampton, which is more than can be said for the morbidly obese Colin Ross and his stooge Robin Lawrence!
Am I the only one who always felt like I needed a shower after meeting John Hemmings?
He has something of the slime about him.

I want to know reading articles Dorries has put on her blog page how she manages to keep her Position as an MP ? I hope your readers look back at the archives and can see her in " a true light" Her main interest is "herself" her clothes and Oh yes friends that always seem to be wealthy. Can you tell me what if anything she has done for the Tories since 2005 ?
A Gold Star though for 'spinning untrue tales'

You obviously missed her pitch to the knicker fetishists.
