Cruddas, then Benn, then ?   » Permalink  |  TrackBack (1)

I thought Hilary Benn gave a very impressive performance on Andrew Marr's programme this morning. This "I'm a pretty straightforward and honest type of guy" approach will strike a chord with many people who have not been impressed by the incumbent Deputy Leader's performance in recent years. I've put Hilary down as my second choice and if Jon Cruddas doesn't win I would be happy to see him in the post.

As my MP said yesterday, "Do these people know where their pay cheques have been coming from in recent years?" A possible reference to Peter Hain seeming to disown the Blairism he has enthusiastically carried out in Blair's Cabinet. Of course, John Spellar could be forgiven for a touch of bitterness about Hain as the rumours were that Hain caved in to Sinn Fein's request to have him removed from the Northern Ireland Office as part of their continued co-operation in the peace process.

Now that Hazel Blears has decided to play the race card I think we can safely discount her from the deputy leader of the Labour Party.

So are you just hedging your bets ?

I notice you supported Cruddas up to the point you realised he couldn't win and now go and support Benn as a good second and praise one of his speechs. So you can say I always thought he would make a good deputy.

Typical Labour spin to ensure they are never seen to be saying the wrong thing or supported the wrong candidate.

As for the Pay cheque reference the pay cheques come from the British tax payer and come the next election many Labour politicians will be given their P45's.

Vote Freedom, you clearly don't understand the concept of a transferable vote. My position is support for Cruddas, with my first transferable preferance going to Benn, and then the others in order all the way down to Hazel Blears in 6th place. That's the way the system works. As for Benn being a good Deputy Leader, perhaps you could point me to where I have said anything else.

One thing for sure, the British taxpayer is not going to be burdened with the cost of funding the Nazi BNP MPs.

Its just funny how all along its been Cruddas, Cruddas , Cruddas and then in the last moments when he is clearly not going to win. You blog on Benn being good.

The British taxpayer will never be funding the NAZI BNP because they are not NAZI. Unlike the system in which we live under with the labour government.

Wasn't it only yesterday that the entire UK DNA database been handed over to the european union. In the UK we hold more DNA profiling of its people than the rest of the european countries put together. And it is not just criminals which are put on the database but people who are cautioned or taken for questioning. You do not have to be guilty to have been put on file.

This is information like every other bit of information it is stored not to protect but to monitor the people of the country. This DNA base can now be accessed by anyone in the european union without request or permission. So yet more freedoms lost.

So never call me a NAZI when you support one of the most fascist regimes that europe has known since Hitler.

Fascism is an authoritarian political ideology (generally tied to a mass movement) that considers individual and other societal interests subordinate to the needs of the state, and seeks to forge a type of national unity,

I wonder if Lord Levy's DNA is on the database ?

I am still urging people to vote for Cruddas, but as I pointed out and you singularly failed to understand, this election is on a transferable vote, so Cruddas' second preference votes can be redistributed. It is probably a little complex for you, but then, why am I not surprised.

Your definition is somewhat simplistic. Try this one: http://www.publiceye.org/eyes/whatfasc.html I think you will find that the cap fits you nicely.

Nazism is more difficult to define because it lacks any real ideological perspective beyond seeking to define all political issues through race. As I replied to your fellow fascist it only requires a casual glance at the BNP website, or a reading of the garbage on BNP sites or publications to see that. Of course, the word 'immigrant' is substituted for race by modern day British Nazis.

If you really want to conduct this debate, could I suggest you do so on the fascist chatrooms where you might find someone who is remotely interested in your views.
