How to win friends and influence people   » Permalink  |  TrackBack (0)

I have received a strange e-mail today from Labour Deputy Leader candidate Hilary Benn which starts off by saying:

Dear Friend

It is now 3 weeks since the last set of local government elections. Many of you will have been re-elected; many of you will have lost colleagues. You have represented one of the many council seats we lost.

Thanks a bunch, Hilary. As it happens I wasn't actually up for election this year mate, but in my Ward we increased the Labour majority to over 1,000 votes.

Bob, does that not say something about Hilary?

Hi Bob,

That line should have read 'you MAY have represented one of the many council seats we lost'

Hope you take the chance to send Hilary your ideas on future of local government.

All the best,

Team Benn

Whew! That's a relief, I though perhaps Hilary knew something I didn't.

Hilary is currently my second choice anyway.

Bob

Beware by saying that Hialry is your second choice you face the same fate as me - bombardment with comments from a bloke who is adamant that I am now single handedly responsible for every single death in Iraq.
It takes all sorts I suppose.
