A great day today in West Bromwich. Over 200 people out delivering copies of a special Searchlight 'Hope not Hate' edition. As Tom Watson said at the close... More than 200 people, 40,000 newspapers, three political parties, and one, very special Billy Bragg.
Fantastic to meet up with so many comrades from the labour and trade union movement.
All You Fascists
I'm gonna tell all you fascists you may be surprised
The people in this world are getting organized
You're bound to lose, you fascists are bound to lose
Race hatred cannot stop us this one thing I know
Your poll tax and Jim Crow and greed have got to go
You're bound to lose, you fascists bound to lose
All of you fascists bound to lose
You fascists bound to lose
All of you fascists bound to lose
You fascists bound to lose
You're bound to lose! You fascists!
Bound to lose
People of every colour marching side by side
Marching 'cross these fields where a million fascists died
You're bound to lose, you fascists bound to lose
I'm going into this battle, and take my union gun
We'll end this world of slavery before this battle's won
You're bound to lose, you fascists bound to lose
It was great to be part of such a fantastic day! Fantastic that so many people turned out and great weather for playing postman pat (that's what we told the 3yr olds to get them to deposit the papers!).
Billy was fantastic - Bertie adored him and he even got his blow up guitar signed "keep rocking"!
Although I'd love a chat with whoever decided to put the bloody Pheonix pub on a list! That wasn't funny!
I guess it's becoming increasingly rare for Billy Bragg to meet "comrades from the Labour and trade union movement" now that he lives in rural monocultural Conservative Dorset rather than multi-cultural East London!
That's cheered me up a bit Bob. I foolishly put something up about the BNP on my site, only to be bombarded with nonsense back from various BNPers. It's good to see so many people fighting back against this nonsense, and to know that there are many many good people out there. Still gutted to miss Billy Bragg though...
I see that our old BNP/fascist Guido Fawkes is having a pop at Chris Paul...
BTW, Bob, you first put up a song about war and the miners, and before I could nick it you had changed it. Have you still got those lyrics, if so can you email them to me?

Snafu, believe it or not they have workers and trade unions in Dorset too, and since the age of the combustion engine travel has got a bit easier.
John, it was 'Between the Wars'... see Billy Bragg's website. He sang both yesterday, but I felt this was more appropriate.
I saw the special edition of Searchlight being delivered around Tividale on Sunday and those who I spoke to were very interested in it. I thought it was an excellent publication with good local content specific to Sandwell. Here's hoping it has some effect.
Miserable little skinhead who wouldn't look out of place at any local gathering of the assembled troglodytes of the far right calls Bob Piper a fascist!
Oh dear, the ability to read wasn't on the entry criteria for Lampeter University then? Geez, things must have gone downhill since my time.
I didn't call you a fascist, please engage brain before typing, does help.
Oh, and do I care whether you like penguins or not?
Oh dear, I seem to be dealing with someone of such overwhelming intellectual superiority that I haven't got a clue what the hell that comment is supposed to mean.
