A tale of two posters   » Permalink  |  TrackBack (0)

Smethwick Ward in Sandwell, like much of the borough, has a fairly diverse community. Some areas are comprised of predominantly white indigenous population, some mixed and others may even have a majority of people whose origins are in the Indian sub-continent.

So, it is not surprising to see posters like the one below in Smethwick ward.

However, by the time the local conservatives got around to parts of the Ward where the electorate are comprised of predominantly white people, they appear to have either run out of posters, or forgot the candidates name.

Round our way the Tory posters are a nasty blend of green and blue - fooling no one but themselves I think. And we don't nail posters to telegraph poles, streetlights and the like - is this just a West Midlands habit? I haven’t seen it done elsewhere.....

And you're telling me that Labour and the Lib-Dems don't pull the same stunt? It's not the party that's racist. If this stuff pays off, it's the electorate.

After all there are still few BNP councillors around your way...
